TN TET 2025 Notification 03/2025: The Teachers Recruitment Board, Chennai, has released the TN TET 2025 Exam Notification on August 11, 2025. The Application Process for TNTET 2025 will be accepted through online mode only till September 08, 2025. TN TET Eligibility Test consists of Paper I and Paper II for the year 2025 for the eligible candidates in Tamil Nadu. Teachers Recruitment Board has been designated as the Nodal Agency for conducting the Teacher Eligibility Test as per G.O.Ms . No.181, School Education (C2) Department, dated 15.11.2011.
TN TET 2025 Important Dates
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates in Tamil Nadu for Teacher Eligibility Test, Paper – I and Paper – II for the year 2025 through online mode only upto 5.00 PM on 08.09.2025. Other Important dates are given below.

TNTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
The candidates must be a minimum of 18 years old as on 01.07.2025. There is no upper age limit.
Minimum Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-I (for classes I-V).
1. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). |

2. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. |
Or |
3. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). |
Or |
4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education). |
Or |
5. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). |
Or |
6. Graduation with atleast 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,). |
Note:
- The candidates who have passed D.T.Ed., /D.El.Ed. from States other than Tamil Nadu should submit evaluation certificate to Teachers Recruitment Board for issue of TET certificate.
- A Diploma in Teacher Education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered. (as per para 2 NCTE notification dated 23.08.2010).
- A person who is pursuing final year of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification amended from time to time shall be eligible for appearing in the TNTET. The candidate will be issued TET certificate only after passing the B.El.Ed. / Diploma and submission of Pass Certificate / Mark Sheets / Provisional Certificate / Degree Certificate to Teachers Recruitment Board.
- A person with Diploma in Ed., (Special Education) qualification shall undergo, after appointment, an NCTE recognized 6 months special programme in Elementary Education.
- The above minimum Education qualification followed as per the service rule and amendment
Minimum Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-II (for classes VI-VIII)
1. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). |

2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). |
Or |
3. Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations. |
Or |
4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). |

5. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed. |

7. Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. programme, recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET. Moreover, as per existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11.02.2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET. |
Note:
- The candidates not having the prescribed qualifications shall not be eligible for appearing TNTET.
- A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification amended from time to time shall be eligible for appearing in the TET.
- The candidates should satisfy their eligibility before applying. They should be personally responsible in case they are not eligible to apply as per the eligibility criteria. It is to be noted that, if a candidate has been allowed to appear for TET, it does not imply that the eligibility of the candidate has been verified. It does not vest any right to appointment of the candidate after passing the examination.

The Teachers Recruitment Board has released a Notification for TNTET 2025 on August 11, 2025. The Application Process will be conducted till September 08, 2025.
How to Apply
Candidates should apply only through online mode in the TRB website http://www.trb.tn.gov.in No other mode of application will be entertained. Use a separate application for Paper-I and Paper-II with separate fees.

Paper I
The questions in TNTET Paper I are based on the prescribed syllabus for Classes I-V in the state, with their difficulty level and linkages extending up to the secondary stage. This ensures that candidates are adequately prepared for teaching at the primary level while also having the necessary knowledge for more advanced teaching concepts.

For Sl.No. i, iv and v candidate has to select the option of Medium of Question Paper as either Tamil or English.
Note:-
- Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 6 – 11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
- Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of Instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl.No. (ii) above in Paper-I table. For recruitment process candidates shall be eligible for the vacancies in the concerned medium only.
- Language II English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
- Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.

Note:

Examination Fees for TNTET 2025
The Examination fee is Rs.600/- for each application for all the candidates except SC, SCA, ST and Differently Abled Persons. For SC, SCA, ST and Differently Abled Persons the examination fee for each application is Rs. 300/-. Since the examination fee for each application is different for various categories, candidates are advised to enter the correct Community / Category of Disability. Once the payment is made, it will not be refunded.
Separate applications have to be submitted for Paper-I and Paper-II along with the fees separately.
SMS alert regarding successful Payment will be sent to the registered mobile phone of the candidate.
