UPSC CAPF AC Notification 2025 Apply 357 Assistant Commandant Posts

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the Central Armed Police Forces (ACs) Examination 2025 Notification for 357 Assistant Commandant Posts. The UPSC CAPF Examination is organized to select candidates for the Assistant Commandant cadre across India’s Central Armed Forces. The Selection process consists of a Written Exam, Physical Test, and Interview/Personality Test.

Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission. Admission at all stages of the examination will be purely provisional, subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

The mere issue of an e-Admit Card to the candidate does not imply that the Commission has finally cleared his/her candidature.

Verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents is taken up only after the candidate has qualified for Interview/Personality Test.

What is CAPF Exam?

The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in India are organizations under the Ministry of Home Affairs. They include the Assam Rifles (AR), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), National Security Guard (NSG), and Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB). Although the AR functions under the administrative control of the MHA, its operational control rests with the Ministry of Defence. Of the CAPFs, the AR, BSF, ITBP, and SSB are Border Guarding Forces. The NSG is a commando-trained force used for special operations. The CISF provides security and protection to industrial undertakings and vital installations. The CRPF is deployed to aid civil power in matters relating to maintaining law and order, internal security, and counterinsurgency. Officers of the DGP rank head the CAPFs.

A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.
