Exam Details
UTET-I (Primary Level – Classes 1 to 5): The examination is scheduled for the morning shift, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
UTET-II (Upper Primary Level – Classes 6 to 8): The examination will be held in the afternoon shift, from 02:00 PM to 04:30 PM.
Both levels of the exam will be conducted on the same date across designated centers located in 29 cities within the state.
UTET 2026: Eligibility Details
For UTET-I (Primary Teachers – Classes I to V):
Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or be enrolled in a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed./B.T.C.).
Alternatively, candidates possessing a Senior Secondary certificate with 45% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed. in accordance with the NCTE 2002 norms are eligible.
Candidates with Senior Secondary (50% marks) and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) are also eligible to apply.
Applicants holding a Graduation degree along with a 2-year D.El.Ed./B.T.C. qualification, or Shiksha Mitras with a 2-year D.El.Ed. from IGNOU, meet the criteria.
For UTET-II (Upper Primary Teachers – Classes VI to VIII):
Candidates must possess a Graduation degree and have passed or be enrolled in a 2-year D.El.Ed./B.T.C. program.
Graduates with at least 50% marks who have completed or are enrolled in a 1-year B.Ed./L.T./Shiksha Shastri (Regular) are eligible.
Candidates with Senior Secondary (minimum 50% marks) and a 4-year B.El.Ed. or B.A./B.Sc.Ed. meet the requirements.
Applicants with at least 50% marks in their Graduation or Post-Graduation and a B.Ed. degree are qualified to apply.
A 5% relaxation in qualifying marks at the graduation level is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, PWD).
Cut-off Marks
To successfully pass the UTET examination, candidates must achieve the following minimum qualifying marks based on their category:
General Category: 60%
OBC, PWD, Dependents of Freedom Fighters, Ex-Servicemen: 50%
SC / ST Category (including SC/ST PWD): 40%

Click on the “New Applicant (Register New)” section after reading the provided guidelines.
Enter the required details such as Name, Father’s Name, Mobile Number, and Email ID, and authenticate using the OTP sent to your contact details.
Log in to the portal using your newly generated Registration Number and Password.
Complete the application form by selecting the desired exam level (UTET-I, UTET-II, or both), qualification code, exam city preferences, and personal details.
Upload scanned copies of a recent color photograph, signature, and left thumb impression, adhering to the specified file size and format.

Exam Pattern
Question Type: The examination will consist entirely of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Duration: Candidates will be given 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete each paper.
Total Questions & Marks: There are 150 questions in total, carrying a maximum of 150 marks (1 mark per correct answer).
Negative Marking: There is no penalty or negative marking for incorrect answers.
UTET-I Structure: The paper includes sections on Child Development and Pedagogy (30 marks), First Language (30 marks), Second Language (30 marks), Mathematics (30 marks), and Environmental Studies (30 marks).
UTET-II Structure: The paper includes Child Development and Pedagogy (30 marks), First Language (30 marks), Second Language (30 marks), and a specific subject section—either Mathematics & Science or Social Studies—worth 60 marks.
