Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
To be eligible for the Police Sub-Inspector post, applicants must possess a Graduation Degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university by the cut-off date of 01.08.2025.
Age Limit (As on 01.08.2025)
The age of the applicants will be calculated based on the matriculation or equivalent certificate as of August 1, 2025.
- Unreserved (General) Men: Minimum 20 years to Maximum 37 years.
- Unreserved (General) Women: Minimum 20 years to Maximum 40 years.
- BC and EBC (Men & Women): Minimum 20 years to Maximum 40 years.
- SC and ST (Men & Women): Minimum 20 years to Maximum 42 years.
Physical Standards
Candidates must meet the following physical parameters. Failing to do so will result in disqualification.
Height:
UR and BC Men: Minimum 165 cm.
EBC, SC, and ST Men: Minimum 160 cm.
All Women: Minimum 155 cm.
Chest (Only for Men):
UR, BC, and EBC Men: Unexpanded – 81 cm; Expanded – 86 cm (Minimum 5 cm expansion required).
SC and ST Men: Unexpanded – 79 cm; Expanded – 84 cm (Minimum 5 cm expansion required).
Weight:
All Women Candidates: Minimum 48 Kilograms.
Selection Process
The selection for the BPSSC Police Sub-Inspector post will be based on the following stages:
Written Competitive Examination: Conducted in two phases (Preliminary and Main).
Preliminary Exam: 200 marks, 100 questions, 2-hour duration. Requires a minimum of 30% marks to qualify for the mains.
Main Exam: Consists of two papers. Paper I is General Hindi (100 questions, 200 marks). Paper II comprises subjects like General Studies, Mathematics, Reasoning, etc., and features both objective (200 marks) and subjective (50 marks) sections.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates numbering 3 times the vacancies will be called for the PET based on the Main exam merit.
Medical Examination & Document Verification: Final selected candidates will undergo a medical test and character/antecedent verification.

All male and female candidates belonging to any category/class are required to pay an online application fee of Rs. 100/-. The payment can be made using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI.
