Technical Stream (Engg)

Essential Qualification

Graduate Apprentice Trainee: Candidates should have acquired a Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a statutory University/ by an institution empowered to award such degrees by an Act of Parliament Graduate examination of professional bodies recognized by the Central Government as equivalent to a Degree/ Sandwich course student who is undergoing training so that he/ she may hold a degree in engineering or technology.
Diploma Apprentice Trainee: Candidates should have acquired a Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a statutory University/ by an institution empowered to award such degrees by an Act of Parliament Graduate examination of professional bodies recognized by the Central Government as equivalent to a Diploma/ Sandwich course student who is undergoing training so that he/ she may hold a diploma in engineering or technology.
ITI Apprentice Trainee :

• The All India Council for Technical Education recognises a certificate in vocational Courses involving two years of study after the completion of the secondary stage of school education.
•  A sandwich course student who is undergoing training so that he may hold a certificate mentioned in (i) above.

Graduate Apprentice Trainees (General Stream): A degree granted by a statutory University/ by an institution empowered to award such degrees by an Act of Parliament / Educational Institutes

Age Limit

Candidates should be 18-27 years for UR, 18-30 years for OBC, and 18-32 years for SC/ ST, and PWD candidates.

 Pay Scale / Stipend

Engineering Stream:

• Graduate Apprentice (B.E./B.Tech./Eqvt.): Rs.9000/-per month
• Diploma Apprentice: Rs.8000/-per month
• ITI Apprentice: Rs.7000/-per month

Non-Engineering – General Stream:

• Graduate Apprentice (B.Com./ B.Sc. / B.A): Rs.9000/-per month

Selection Process

• Graduate Apprentice Trainees (B.E/B.Tech./Equivalent); Diploma Apprentice Trainees/ ITI Apprentice Trainees: Depending on the vacancies available in various disciplines, candidates will be selected by shortlisting based on marks obtained in the qualifying exam, followed by a Screening test/Interview.
• The details of the shortlisted candidates for the written test/interview will be published on the DRDO website. Candidates are advised to check the website regularly for the exact date and time of the interview/screening test.
• Depending on the number of applicants reporting for interviews, screening tests or Interviews (or both) may be conducted at GTRE, Bengaluru, for Graduate/Diploma and ITI apprentices as per the dates announced on the DRDO Website (www.drdo.gov.in).

How to Apply

• Applications are to be submitted online through the following website: rac.gov.in
•  Candidates are requested to fill up the correct details against all the fields and upload scanned copies of all the mandatory documents (as per the list).
• The marks obtained in the qualifying exam are to be mentioned in percentage. In the case of CGPA, candidates are requested to convert the CGPA into a percentage per their university norms, which may be verified during document verification.
• Candidates are required to bring a signed printout of the application along with the originals of the documents submitted online at the time of interview/document verification at GTRE, Bengaluru.
• Applications received by any other mode after the last date will not be accepted, and incomplete or partially filled application forms will not be accepted.
