IMU CET 2026: The Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET) 2026 notification has been released by the Indian Maritime University (IMU). This national-level entrance examination is the gateway to admission to various undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) maritime programs offered by IMU campuses and its affiliated institutes across India. Online registration began on February 6, 2026, and the exam is scheduled for May 24, 2026.

IMU CET 2026: Exam Details

The IMU CET 2026 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. The question paper will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with a total of 200 questions for UG programs and 120 questions for PG programs. The medium of the exam is English.

IMU CET 2026: Eligibility Details

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to appear for IMU CET 2026:

1. Undergraduate (UG) Programmes (B.Tech, B.Sc, DNS)

• Educational Qualification: 10+2/equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).

• English Marks: Minimum 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th standard.

• Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible.

2. Postgraduate (PG) Programmes (M.Tech, MBA)

• M.Tech: B.E./B.Tech in relevant discipline (Marine/Civil/Mechanical/Naval Architecture) with at least 60% aggregate marks.

• MBA: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Relaxation:

• SC/ST Candidates: 5% relaxation in eligibility marks (PCM/Degree), but no relaxation in English marks.

Age Limit

The age limit is calculated as of the commencement of the academic session (August 2026).

• Minimum Age: 17 Years.

• M.Tech / MBA: No age limit.

Step to Apply

2. Click on the “IMU CET 2026 Registration” link.

3. Complete Basic Registration to generate the Application Number.

4. Login and fill in the Detailed Application Form with personal and academic details.

5. Upload scanned photograph, signature, and 10th/12th mark sheets.

6. Pay the Application Fee online via Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card.

7. Submit the form and take a printout of the confirmation page.

Exam Pattern

For UG Programmes (B.Tech, B.Sc, DNS)

• Total Questions: 200 MCQs

• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.

For MBA Programmes

• Total Questions: 120 MCQs

• Subjects: Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning.

For M.Tech Programmes

• Total Questions: 120 MCQs

• Subjects: English, Mathematics, and Subject-Specific (Marine/Civil/Mech/Naval Arch).
