NIMCET 2024 Registration: The National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur released the NIMCET Application Form 2024 on March 06, 2024, and the Last date for Online Registrations is April 20, 2024.
The NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET), is a National Level Test conducted by NITs for admission to their Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program. The admission to the MCA program to the ten NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Patna, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), and Warangal and IIIT Bhopal for the year 2024-25 is based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET-2024 only.

NIMCET 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Indian Nationals securing at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ ST) in
- B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons) / BCA / BIT / B.Voc. (Computer Science/ Computer Applications) of a minimum three years full-time from a recognized University with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects
OR
2.B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognized University
are eligible to appear for NIMCET-2024. Conversion of scored marks from CGPA to percentage and vice-versa is not permitted.
(CGPA other than 10-point scale will be converted to 10-point scale based on Unitary method)
Candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET-2021 and such candidates shall have to furnish the proof (in the form of a certificate issued by the Head of institution where the candidate has been studying / has studied) of candidature for appearing in the examinations during the academic year 2024-23. All candidates shall submit the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET- 2021 at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than September 15, 2021, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs.
Note: Students who have completed/are completing B.Sc./ B.Sc. (Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply, provided the programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and the Distance Education Council (DEC) of the Govt. of India.
Admission through NIMCET-2024
The candidates who appeared and obtained marks in NIMCET-2021 will be allotted ranks by adopting the criteria stated in section 13 of this brochure (see section 13 for details). The candidates who obtained rank in NIMCET- 2021 only shall be eligible for admission into the MCA program in the participating institutes. NIMCET 2024: Application Fee
Candidates have to pay the non-refundable Application Processing Fee (Rs. 2,500/- for OPEN/OPEN-EWS/OBC Category and Rs. 1,250/-for SC/ST/PwD Category) only through the provisions made in the NIMCET-2024 website before the final submission of the online application form.

How to Apply for NIMCET 2024
Candidates must register on the NIMCET-2024 website by creating the login and password as instructed therein and then fill all the details as per the Online Form. NIMCET 2024 – Exam Pattern
NIMCET is an Offline OMR Based Exam to be Conducted in English. The duration of the Exam is 120 Minutes with 120 MCQs. Each Question Scores 4 Marks. There is a Negative Marking of 1 Mark.
The NIMCET-2021 test will be conducted with only one question paper containing 120 multiple-choice questions covering the following subjects. Multiple Choice Questions will be written in English and not translated into any other language.
- Mathematics : 50 Questions
- Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning : 40 questions
- Computer Awareness : 10 questions
- General English : 20 questions
Award of Marks
- Each correctly answered question will carry FOUR marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to NEGATIVE ONE mark.
- The candidates are advised not to attempt such questions if they are not sure of the correct answer. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if a question is unanswered.
- More than one answer indicated against a question will be negatively marked.
- The candidates have to mark the responses in the OMR sheet using black or blue ink ball point pen only.

NIMCET 2024: Syllabus
| Mathematics | Set Theory: Concept of sets – Union, Intersection, Cardinality, Elementary counting; permutations and combinations. Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions. Algebra: Fundamental operations in algebra, expansions, factorization, simultaneous linear /quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices. Coordinate Geometry: Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, distance formulae, equation of a line, and intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of a circle, parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola. Calculus: Limit of functions, continuous function, differentiation of function, tangents and normals, simple examples of maxima and minima. Integration of functions by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, definite integrals, applications of definite integrals to areas. Vectors: Position vector, addition and subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics. Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations properties of triangles, solution of triangles, heights and distances, general solutions of trigonometric equations. |
