Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026: The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Chennai, has announced the guidelines and schedule for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026. The TNEA process functions as a Unified Single Window Admission System for Indian Nationals seeking admission to the first year of B.E. and B.Tech. degree courses. The system is used for allocating seats across various government, government-aided, university departments, and self-financing engineering colleges situated in Tamil Nadu.

TNEA Counselling 2026 Eligibility Details

• Nativity: Tamil Nadu candidates who passed their VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII standards from schools located in Tamil Nadu are eligible and do not need to produce a Nativity Certificate. Tamil Nadu native candidates who studied outside the state must produce a digitally signed e-Certificate for Nativity. Other state candidates who studied VIII to XII in Tamil Nadu are also eligible under the Open Competition category.

• Qualifying Examination (Academic Stream): Candidates must pass the HSC (+1 and +2) or its equivalent. The minimum average marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together must be 45.00% for the General Category, and 40.00% for Backward Classes, MBC, DNC, SC, SCA, and ST categories.

• Qualifying Examination (Vocational Stream): Candidates must pass HSC (Vocational Subject: +1 and +2) along with any one of the related subjects (Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry). The minimum average marks in the Related Subject, Vocational Theory, and Practicals put together must be 45.00% for the General Category, and 40.00% for all other reserved categories.

• OC / BC / BCM / MBC & DNC Category: Rs. 500/-
• SC / SCA / ST Category: Rs. 250/-

Payment Mode: The fee can be paid via Credit card, Debit card, Net-banking, UPI, or a Demand Draft drawn in favor of “The Secretary, TNEA” payable at Chennai.
