TNEA Counselling 2026 Eligibility Details
Nativity: Tamil Nadu candidates who passed their VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII standards from schools located in Tamil Nadu are eligible and do not need to produce a Nativity Certificate. Tamil Nadu native candidates who studied outside the state must produce a digitally signed e-Certificate for Nativity. Other state candidates who studied VIII to XII in Tamil Nadu are also eligible under the Open Competition category.
Qualifying Examination (Academic Stream): Candidates must pass the HSC (+1 and +2) or its equivalent. The minimum average marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together must be 45.00% for the General Category, and 40.00% for Backward Classes, MBC, DNC, SC, SCA, and ST categories.
Qualifying Examination (Vocational Stream): Candidates must pass HSC (Vocational Subject: +1 and +2) along with any one of the related subjects (Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry). The minimum average marks in the Related Subject, Vocational Theory, and Practicals put together must be 45.00% for the General Category, and 40.00% for all other reserved categories.
