AIL LET Application Form 2024 has been Opened on April 09, 2024. Through this AIL Law Entrance Test (LET) 2024 Candidates will be admitted to Law Courses – BA LLB (Five-Year Program) and LLM (One-Year Program). Eligible candidates, seeking admission to the Army Institute will have to register themselves at the admission portal of AIL LET. before the Last Date of Registration i.e.,  08th May 2024.

What is AIL?

The Army Institute of Law (AIL) is a private unaided institute that was established in July 1999 by the Indian Army under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) at its interim location at Patiala. The Institute is permanently affiliated with The Punjabi University, Patiala, and approved by the Bar Council of India. In July 2003, the Institute shifted to its current location at Sector 68, Mohali, Punjab. On 01 December 2003, the Mohali Campus was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the then President of India. It conducts a five-year BA LLB and one-year LLM course.

Courses Offered by AIL

The institute offers BA LLB (Five-Year Program) and LLM (One-Year Program) courses.

  • BA LLB (Five-Year Program): By the time a student completes the five-year integrated program he/she is expected to be adequately equipped with the knowledge of law required to become a full-fledged responsible member of the legal profession.
  • LLM (One-Year Program): The LLM course has been adopted to impart in-depth knowledge in the field of law with specializations. The Programme is designed to put students on a strong footing to undertake jobs in teaching and other sectors at the National and International levels. Students are awarded the Post Graduate Degree after successful completion of the one-year program.

AIL Admission Process

Admission to 71 seats for wards of Indian Army personnel, 01 seat for ward of Indian Navy Personnel, 03 seats for wards of Indian Air Force Personnel, and 05 seats of All India General Category will be done through the Online Law Entrance Test (LET) conducted by AIL at designated test centres.

Candidates for wards of Indian Army personnel, Indian Navy Personnel, Indian Air Force Personnel and All India General Category will join for online counseling as per merit in the Online Law Entrance Test (LET). Admission will be granted only if the candidate is found eligible on the day of counseling.

Admission to 20 seats in the Punjab Residents Civil Category will be based on 10+2 merit, drawn up by the University designated as per the notification issued by Govt. of Punjab dated 13 March, 2024 on the basis of centralised online counseling. The eligibility in this category is based on the Domicile of the State of Punjab.

AIL LET Registration Link has been activated at official Website at ail.ac.in. Those who are interested can Register in online. The AIL LET Application Form 2024 ends on May 8, 2024. 

How to Fill the AIL LET Application Form 2024

  • Visit the official website of Army Institute of Law; ail.ac.in.
  • Click on the AIL LET application link, you will be redirected to the application portal.
  • Click on the new registration link; AIL LET registration form will be displayed on the screen.
  • Enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, email id and other details. Submit the registration form.
  • After registration, candidates will be given a registration ID which will be used for logging into the admission portal.
  • Login using the registration ID, and open the admission cum application form.
  • In the application form, fill the personal details, category, complete address, educational qualification, and select the course you want to apply for.
  • Upload a recent passport size photo and signature. The recommended size and format specifications are given below.

Modalities of the Entrance Test (for BA LLB Course only)

The Entrance Test will consist of a paper with 4 sections of two hours duration in a single sitting to be conducted as under:

Note:

  • The paper shall have objective type questions of a standard expected of 10+2 students.
  • There shall be No Negative Marking and the minimum pass percentage is 25% in the entrance test.
  • The medium of Entrance Test is English.
  • In case, candidates secure identical marks in the final list, the candidate with higher marks in the qualifying examination will be preferred. In case of parity at this stage also, the candidate older in age shall be given preference.

Hostel Facilities

The institute provides safe and secure hostel accommodation for both boys and girls. The accommodation consists of double rooms and single rooms. In addition, the college has reappropriated existing available accommodation into hostel accommodation with occupancy of 2/3/4 per room. The rooms are comfortable with fans, lights and furniture for students convenience. There are separate common rooms fitted with LCDs for boys and girls in their respective hostels.

Construction of an Additional Hostel with a capacity to accommodate 47 girl students is in progress. It is endeavored to make the rooms AC with attached washrooms ensuring a comfortable living space.
