AILET / AIET 2026: The National Law University, Delhi will conduct the “All India Law Entrance Test-2026 (AILET 2026)” for admission to Five Year B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., and Ph.D. Programme for the academic year 2026-27 on December 14, 2025 (Sunday) from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM at All India Level. The Admission Notice and Online Application Forms will be available on the University’s website https://nationallawuniversitydelhi.in from August 7, 2025.
AILET is also known as the All India Law Entrance Test. The National Law University, Delhi, will conduct this exam. It is a national-level entrance examination which is conducted yearly. Candidates aspiring to get into 1-year LL.M., 5-year B.A. LL.B. and PhD programmes at National Law Universities across India should qualify for this exam.

AILET 2026 – Eligibility criteria
The candidates should be Indian nationals and should have passed their qualifying examination from a recognised College/Institute from anywhere in the country.
Eligibility Criteria for LLB is that the candidates should be Intermediate (class 10+2) graduates with minimum 50% aggregate marks. Candidates appearing in class 12 exam are also eligible to apply for AILET 2026.
Eligibility Criteria for LLM is that the candidates should be LLB Graduates or any other equivalent degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks (In case of SC/ST/PwD it is 50% marks). Candidates in their last year of LLB can also apply
Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D is that the candidates should be LL.M or its equivalent degree holders with 55% aggregate marks (50% in case of SC/ ST/ Persons with Disability)

Application process of AILET 2026
The application form was released on August 7, 2025, on the official application website at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. The candidate should register themselves first and then get access to the application form. This form should be filled, and the choice of exam centres mentioned above will be presented, enabling the candidates to select their preferred centre. The filled application form should be submitted along with a scanned copy of required documents and fee receipt.
AILET 2026: BA LLB Exam Structure
The format of the AILET 2026 for the BA LLB programme will encompass three segments, each containing 150 multiple-choice questions. The overall achievable score will be 150, and the examination duration will be 120 minutes. Applicants should take into account that the AILET 2026 incorporates a system of negative marking. The negative marking scheme follows the equation 0.25 multiplied by 4, resulting in a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect response. Consequently, for every four wrong answers, one mark will be subtracted from the total score.
AIELT 2025: LLM Exam Structure
The question paper designed for the LLM programme will comprise 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each carrying one point. These 100 MCQs will be drawn from diverse legal disciplines. The LLM assessment will extend over a period of 120 minutes. Negative marking will be in effect for the AILET 2026 assessment. The negative scoring system adheres to the formula 0.25 multiplied by 4, which translates to a deduction of 0.25 marks for each inaccurate reply. As a result, four incorrect answers will result in a deduction of one mark.
AIELT 2025: PhD Exam Structure
The AILET 2026 PhD examination will encompass 100 multiple-choice questions, each carrying a value of one mark. Out of these, 50 questions will pertain to research techniques. The remaining 50 MCQs for the PhD in Law will span various areas of Law. Another set of 50 MCQs for the PhD in social sciences will encompass different branches of the subject. Additionally, one mark will be awarded for every correct response, while a deduction of 0.25 marks will occur for each incorrect answer. Individuals possessing a valid Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and international candidates are exempted from the All India Entrance Test for admission to the PhD programme.

Counselling process of AILET 2026
The results will be announced online in their official website https://nludelhi.ac.in/home.aspx . The candidates will be selected based on the cut-off of the exam. The final list of aspirants should attend the counseling process that will happen offline in the university premises. The following documents should be carried by the candidate during counselling.
