The Andhra Pradesh government’s “Talliki Vandanam” scheme provides an annual financial assistance of ₹15,000 to support the education of school-going children. For the 2026-2027 academic year, the funds are expected to be disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in June 2026. Under this scheme, ₹13,000 is directly credited to the mother’s or guardian’s bank account, while the remaining ₹2,000 is allocated for school infrastructure and maintenance.
Here is the detailed eligibility checklist and criteria for the 2026 phase:
Thalliki Vandanam 2026 Conditions
Income Tax: No person in the family should be paying income tax.
Dry Land: The family must own less than 10 acres of dry land.
Wet Land: The family must own less than 3 acres of wet land.
Energy Consumption: The household’s electricity usage must strictly be less than 300 units (12 Months Average).
Transport/Vehicles: No person in the family should own a four-wheeler.
Urban Property: The family must own less than 1000 sq. ft. of built-up area in urban regions.
Employee Category: No person in the family should be a Government, Outsource, Pension, or Contract employee.
Student Eligibility
- The scheme is applicable to students studying from Class 1 up to Class 12 (including Intermediate 1st and 2nd year).
- Students must be enrolled in recognized institutions within Andhra Pradesh, including Government schools, Private Aided and Un-aided schools, Gurukuls, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya schools, and KGBVs.
- The student must secure a minimum attendance of 75% during the academic year to be eligible.
- Students enrolled in courses like ITI or Polytechnic are not eligible for this scheme, as they are covered under separate fee reimbursement programs.
Required Documents & Bank Rules
- A valid AP Rice Card or White Ration Card is mandatory.
- The mother’s bank account must be linked with Aadhaar and actively seeded with NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) to ensure the money does not fail during DBT transfer. If the mother is not present, the amount can be transferred to the father’s or legal guardian’s account.
- Aadhaar cards for both the student and the mother are required, alongside the student’s study and attendance certificates.
